For the worldwide successful song Jerusalema, singer Nomcebo Zikode received an international certificate, but the song’s producer Master KG (actual name Kgaogelo Moagi) is being sued for suspected copyright violations.
Zikode, who composed the song’s lyrics, expressed her gratitude to Tunisia on social media. Following a cover of the song around the nation, she was given the honor.
“Thank you, Tunisia, for awarding me with this honorary certificate,” she wrote. According to theZikode’s post, Tunisia has now recognized her for Jerusalema alongside Togo, Benin, the Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the United Arab Emirates, the USA, Switzerland, and South Africa.
The vocalist kept gushing about how the song helped to popularize the Zulu people and South Africa.
Through a press release last week, musicians Charmza the DJ and Biblos said that they had filed a lawsuit for copyright infringement against Master KG, Open Mic productions, and Africori in relation to the commercialization and master recording of the popular song.
